Candle Care Guide
Thank You for Choosing Candles By Twice
To ensure the best experience with your candle, follow these simple care and safety tips. Proper candle care extends burn time, maximizes fragrance throw, and keeps your home safe.
Part 1: Before the Burn
-
Trim the Wick
Always trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent excessive flickering and soot buildup.
-
Place on a Heat-Resistant Surface
Ensure your candle is on a stable, non-flammable surface away from drafts, curtains, or pets.
-
First Burn Matters
Allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the container during the first burn (about 2-3 hours) to prevent tunneling.
Part 2: While Burning
-
Never Leave Unattended
Always keep burning candles within sight and away from anything flammable.
-
Keep Away from Pets & Children
While our candles are pet and children safe put on a surface where little hands/paws cant access.
-
Limit Burn Time & Watch Wick
Limit candle burning to 4 hours to prevent jar overheating. If the flame gets too high or smokes, extinguish, cool, trim wick, and relight.
Part 3: After You Burn
-
Extinguish Properly & Let Cool
Utilize a candle snuffer or gently extinguish the flame to prevent wax splatter. Ensure the wax is fully hardened before relocating the candle.
-
Keep the Wax Clean
Remove debris, wick trimmings, or matches from the melted wax to maintain a clean burn.
-
Reuse & Repurpose
Once your candle has ½ inch of wax left, discontinue use. Clean out the jar and repurpose it for storage/decor or contact us using the form below for a candle refill / jar recycling.
